All the Things
At age 20 I escaped the cornfields of Illinois and found myself in the beautiful state of Washington via the US Army. After six years of push-ups in the mud, I returned to civilian life in Seattle.

In the following years I became a leatherworker, started teaching Intro to Leather workshops, founded the Seattle Leatherworking Meetup, made a mask (and then many, many more), became a Doer at Brown Paper Tickets, discovered the Maker Movement, changed my title to Maker Advocate, co-founded a Meetup called Art+Tech+Trash, became a Teaching Artist at Pratt Fine Arts Center, joined a makerspace called Seattle Makers, and now I'm helping to plan the first Nation of Makers conference, NOMCON 2018, in Santa Fe June 9-10.

I'm happy to talk (at length!) about any of the above, or something completely different. I love to learn new things and to meet new people!
