The Unity game development engine is freely available on Mac and Windows and allows you to compile games for dozens of platforms, including Linux, WebGL/HTML5, Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, and many different game consoles. In this 1-hour workshop, Jeremy Gibson Bond—game design/dev professor at Michigan State University and author of Introduction to Game Design, Prototyping, and Development—leads you through the basics of game prototyping with Unity. The workshop includes a quick introduction to Unity and a live demo of prototyping a May-the-Fourth-related game. After the session, watch @gameprofbond on Twitter for a link to the video and finished project files.
